Ham with apple-cranberry sauce recipe

  • ¾ cup (190 ml) apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup (250 ml) cranberries, fresh or frozen
  • ½ cup (125 ml) brown sugar
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) water
  • ½ tsp. (2 ml) ground cinnamon or nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp. (30 ml) chopped pecans (optional)
  • Ham slices
  1. In a saucepan, melt a portion of butter, then briefly brown the apples, cranberries and brown sugar.
  2. Add water, then bring to a boil while stirring occasionally.
  3. Reduce heat, and simmer for 15 minutes while stirring continuously.
  4. Add cinnamon and pecans (if applicable) and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Serve on slices of cold or reheated ham.
