Ham with apple-cranberry sauce recipe

¾ cup (190 ml) apples, peeled and diced
1 cup (250 ml) cranberries, fresh or frozen
½ cup (125 ml) brown sugar
¼ cup (60 ml) water
½ tsp. (2 ml) ground cinnamon or nutmeg
2 tbsp. (30 ml) chopped pecans (optional)
Ham slices
In a saucepan, melt a portion of butter, then briefly brown the apples, cranberries and brown sugar.
Add water, then bring to a boil while stirring occasionally.
Reduce heat, and simmer for 15 minutes while stirring continuously.
Add cinnamon and pecans (if applicable) and simmer for 5 minutes.
Serve on slices of cold or reheated ham.
